I didnt like how the movie cut so many things out of the book. I understand how they had to cut out so many things. But it seemed like all the things that covered over around 10 chapters happened in like the first 20 minutes. It was all mashed together and I didnt like it as much. |
Yes, I also understand why the movie director had to cut out some scenes. But I agree with Alison because I think that the movie shouldn't have cut out the whole first part of the book, it introduced us to the characters and if you didn't read the book then you wouldn't have known as much about them as the people who read the book would.

I also think that this book has so much detail and it is really long and back then i dont think they had the technology or a lot to add all the details and all the props in the movie that happened in the book. its a lot easier to right a book then a movie because in a book you can go on forever and be descriptive but in movies you have to limit it so the movie doesnt take 3 hours to watch.

Ok in the beging when we first started watching the movie i thought it was btter but now im not that sure anymore.they left so much out that they had in the book.things that gave u a better picture and exsplained it alot more.so even though i really dont like to read novels and things like that i think i liked the book more.

in the book Jem, Scout, and Dill go with Atticus to break the News of Tom's death to his Family. The movie there is only Jem, and Atticus and it's not after swimming in the day the entire scene is in the Night.

If I could re-do the movie, I would've put some of the stuff in from the beginning of the novel. From chapter 9 on, the book got really exciting, and I think they could've put other side events in. Also, I wish they would've put the events in the movie in the same order as in the novel. It was kind of dissapointing.

I noticed that a lot of important details were taken out of the movie. Aunt Alexandra as a person was taken out completely! Also, there was no scene when Calpurnia takes the kids to her church. Some other scenes were also deleted like the kids in the summer making up the Boo Radley play and the scene where Atticus tells helen that tom is dead is different from in the book. I thought the movie was pretty good but it wasn't nearly as good as the book. I wish the movie would've added more detail.

Remember when Scout was in the tire and jem was pushing her and he pushed her real hard so she could go into the radley's place, in the movie have u seen that when jem pushes her she is rollig straight for the light pole and then apears 6 feet away from the place where she was and lands in the radleys place.

a lot of the events that happened in the beginning weren't huge parts, if you compare the events that happen after, and the events in the beginning werent what the story was mainly about. it would have taken up a lot of time, but it deffinately would've made the movie more interesting.
