My favorite setting is Miss Maudie's house because she likes to plant a lot of flowers, so I think her house would look pretty. I also like her house because of the type of furniture in it. In the book they talked about the furniture that got carried out during the fire and her favorite peice of furniture is her rocker, so I think she would have a cozy house.

I disagree. I don't like cozy houses with tons of furnature, they make me feel cluttered. I like them to be wild and fun to make them feel like home. I don't like plain and boring. Although the flowers would make her house look pretty. Personally I don't have a favorite setting. This time period was during the depression and they didn't have enough money to buy most of the things that they wanted. Therefore this wouldnt make anything stand out, be wild or fun.

i agree i wouldnt like a to much furnature in a small house like miss maudie's house is, if it was a bigger house i wouldn't mind as much but its small so i wouldn't like it. and my favorite settings when Dill scout and Jem go into the Radleys backyard.

My favorite setting in to kill a mockingbird is when all the kids go over and sneek around the Radleys house at night. I liked it because they are sneeky and their is some great description.

I also like when they are in the courthouse because it really shows the type of person Atticus is. It shows that Atticus can be both very friendly but also buissinesslike. When he is talking to Mayella he is very nice and polite, but when he starts to talk to the jury he is very buissinesslike and strait to the point.

I think everyone was in the same position house wise. But i think the Finches where in a better position then most of the families. This is also kind of weird but i also think that the food that was put on the table back then shows what the family could afford. The couple times that they showed the family at the dinner table in the movie or described what they were eating for lunch and dinner, that it was a pretty well put together meal.

Does anyone have a favorite setting? I do. My favorite setting is when the author describes how Jem, Scout and Dill sneak over to the Radley's house at night. Then how a shadow arrived from the Radley house when they were in the Radley's backyard. After that they started running home and one of them got caught in the gate and took off his pants to get away. Which one got caught in the gate? Did he ever get his pants back? Or did he get into trouble with Atticus? I dont know! [/i][/b] |
jem was running and his pants got caught on the fence. he took them off but went back to get them later on. when he went back, his pants were folded over the fence and the whole was sewn.he didnt really get in trouble by atticus because dill said he won them from jem while playing strip-poker.

Larry I agree with you about the courthouse. I liked this setting because they described it in detail and also because they showed the type of people that were in Maycomb. Yeah it did seem like it was happening in front of you, Larry maybe it is because we did that play thing in class about the trial. I could imagine myself sitting up in the balcony watching this trial, I would want Tom Robinson and Atticus to win this case.

I think the best setting was when they were at the side of the road as the house burned. I liked this setting and the way it was described beacuse everything that was said made it feel like total chaos. Which i think would be hard to do because it was in a book.

I think in the book or the movie, Atticus tells Scout that their not rich. Maybe im wrong, I dont know. But I think that the Finches have more money than anyone else in Maycomb. But I dont think their outrageously rich.
